Moonlight
It was a cold day in the winter when Sheila arrived at the academy. She came alone since she had forbitten her parents to accompany her. It had only been a few months ago that they had had a horrible fight and Sheila was happy to be away from home. Once she had told she was accepted at the academy, there was nothing else she talked about. If she talked at all.
She went to someone who looked like she could be a instructor. "Hallo, I have just arrived, would you be able to help me?" The instructor gave her a tour through the academy and finally they came at the wisper stable. According to the instructor she had to pick a horse here. So she started looking at the horses in the stable. There were a few stables empty so she wasn't the first one to arrive.
She looked at each of the stables. If there was one thing important for her, it was to pick a horse with whom she would be able to work. She wanted a horse that would be more then just her horse. It had to become her best friend. So she didn't look at his or her appearance. She tried to look further then that.
When she was at the middle of the stables, she heard a voice. Rappidly she turned around to see who talked to her. Of course she knew the rumors of talking horses, but she was a sceptic and didn't believe a word of it. There was nobody in the stables. The instructor had already left and she was the only person who was capable of talking in the entire area.
"Hey, I'm talking to you!' She heard again and she walked towards the voice. It came out of the twenty first stable. She looked in the stable and there he was. A Clydesdale. He must have been the one talking 'cause there was no one else in there.
"You? You are talking to me?" Sheila said while she was sure that she had gone mad. Talking to a horse. Someone must be kidding her. Her scepticisme stayed. She couldn't believe that this horse could talk to her. Maybe someone had installed a microphone in the stables or she was just dreaming.
Of course I'm talking to you. There's nobody else to talk to, is there? It sounded again and this time she was absolutly sure it came from the horse. So it was through! These horses were capable of talking. How strange and how unnatural. If horses could talk, why had her last horse not talked to her? Why only this one?
Well, I've never heard a horse talk before... Why can I only hear you talk and not the other horses? Her voice sounded a little unstable. She still believed this wasn't really happening, but she couldn't just stand there. There was no other explanation and last time she checked, she wasn't crazy.
We, horses, can only talk to our riders. I have chosen you to be mine. I'll be your horse for the rest of the time. Have fun.
[/b] I heard him saying with a little fun and sarcasme in his voice. Well that explained a lot but... Did you just say 'I have chosen you"? I thought I was suppost to choose a horse not the other way around! But she realised that there was no other way. She was chosen and so would it be. Never mind. My name is Sheila. What's yours? She spoke to him before he could answer her question. Not expecting the next answer to be I don't have a name. You're suppost to give me one. If there was one thing is was really bad in, it was giving names. Well, what do you think of ... euhm ... Stardust? Or just short Star? After a moment of silence she heard the voice again. Stardust, Star, that's fine for me. I like it. Thanks. [/i] [/blockquote]
